Welcome to Army Public School, Patiala

Established on 26th Jun 1985, in Old Cantt location near Hanuman Mandir, the Army School, Patiala was inaugurated by Maj Gen DK Mehta, GOC, 1 Armd Div with an initial strength of 334 students studying in Classes I to V. Classes VI, VII and VII were added later.

In 1993, both Primary Wing & Senior Wing were shifted to 40 Baradari Patiala. Due to increased strength, a new Primary Wing was simultaneously created at Tarapore Enclave and later upgraded to Senior Secondary level with the first batch of Class XII passing out in the year 1996. However till 2000, two separate Primary Wings of the Army School continued to function at Tarapore Enclave and Lal Bagh respectively before being merged together and brought to Rajindra Lines.

From 2000 to 2007, the two wings i.e. Senior Wing & Primary Wing functioned from 40, Baradari and Rajindra Lines separately while construction of the new school premises at Tarapore Enclave started in Mar 2004. Both wings shifted to their permanent location in Oct 07 and the school was re-named as Army Public School, Patiala .

The new premises of Army Public School, Patiala was inaugurated by Lt Gen TK Sapru, YSM, GOC-in-C Western Command on 18 Mar 2008.

  • To promote development of academic excellence, discipline, personal character, high sense of values and national integration.
  • Bring up/ train children along the lines of Indian culture and values.
  • To provide facilities to all ranks of Def Forces in providing admission for their children due to frequent transfers.
  • To maintain continuity and a good standard of education.
